These terms govern your use of Lantern. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it rather than replace it.
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Lantern on Apple devices you own or control. You may not resell it, rent it, reverse-engineer it, or extract the vocabulary database for redistribution.
Lantern is free to use. Three practice rounds are available every day at no cost, forever, along with three word packs and two study languages. An optional short video earns two further rounds on any day you want them.
Optional paid plans raise those limits:
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
You manage and cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings, not in Lantern. Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Payment is taken by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies — we cannot issue them.
We work hard on the accuracy of the vocabulary, but Lantern is a learning aid, not a certified translation service. Do not rely on it for legal, medical or safety-critical translation.
The app is provided as-is. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Lantern has no user-generated content and no messaging. If you use Game Center ranking, Apple's Game Center terms apply to that feature.
You can stop using Lantern at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if the app is being misused in a way that harms the service or other users.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protections of your home country's law.
